Got the Sunday Night Blues?

Has it started already?  Are you dreading going to work tomorrow?  Do you feel stuck, and you can’t seem to figure out a way out of your job?

I have the answer for you.  Okay, so maybe it’s not the answer, but it could be an answer.  And if it’s not even that, it could lead to an answer.

Enter this travel contest.  It’s Mydestination.com‘s Biggest Baddest Bucket List Competition.  The prize is an all-expense paid trip around the world for 6 months plus a $50,000 cash prize when you get home.  Sure, it’s not for everyone.  If you own a business or have kids, 6 months away from home might be impossible.  But I can tell you from experience that winning the contest isn’t the real prize here.  I mean, yes, that is the prize, but you never know how one door can open another.  Just entering the contest is the best part of the journey.  If you don’t start exploring what options are available to you in the world, you may just end up staying right where you are.

So go for it.  Do something.  Do anything.  Just put it out there.  The more outrageous, the better!

Oh, and if you enter, let me know and we can get the Lolabees Community (if that even exists) to vote for you!

    1. Not yet, but I am working on it! The fun is definitely in making the video. You should do it! You could bring your husband along… why not extend the 4 month trip another 6 months.

  1. You are absolutely right – start exploring the opportunities out there ! I certainly am , I’ve joined Oxford uni writing course just to make me focus and started entering photography competitions ( v much a beginner !) not to actually win, but to allow myself to explore what I enjoy .
And believe me there is a lolabees community . Last night , 2 dentist friends ( one Australian , one Portuguese) and I will having a good chuckle at your “10 reasons …” . Thank you for your fab blog x
Ps. Since exploring and starting my other ventures I don’t get the Sunday night blues ( that much !)

    1. I’m so glad to hear from you, Rinku. I think you are doing all the right things. You are so lucky to have other interests. I hope to get the opportunity to read some of your work in the future. Are you getting any closer on your book?? I truly believe that it doesn’t really matter if you win in this case because it’s more about the process. I can attest to what you are experiencing. When I was so unhappy in my job and spent a lot of energy focusing on the first travel contest I did, the Sunday night blues were so much better! I had something else in my life, so I could focus on that and what the future might hold instead of worrying about how much I didn’t want to go into work “tomorrow.”

Thank you for your sweet words– major warm fuzzies!! 😀

  2. Wow that competition prize is amazing! Can’t enter as I’ve just been offered a partnership in a great venture and am signing at the end of this month, but good luck to you if you’re going for it, I’ll vote for you!

    1. You know, I don’t really make bucket lists. I guess I just do stuff I want to do. 😉 Travel is always at the top for me too. I don’t think that’s lame at all, unless you’re calling me lame too. 😉

  3. Wow, this is huge!! Sounds magnificent. I would do it but it sounds too much for me to be capable of. I have been to the Philippines, that’s it – no great “3 photos to go with your entry” etc.

Alas…. But it is a FANTASTIC opportunity Lolabees 🙂
